If someone had told Nala a year ago that she’d be shut up in her living room to marathon some live-action show where characters died every episode, she would have first wondered why the hell some stranger felt the need to tell her future, then simply laugh. Live action? Not likely, live action shows were always plagued by wooden acting and effects cheesier than some poor-man’s video game. Sure computer graphics were all the rage these days, but nothing ever felt quite as natural as the organic flow of hand-drawn animation—which was rather ironic. Television that tried to imitate reality was always doomed to fail, in Nala’s eyes, because live action was just so limited by comparison. In classic Disney and Studio Gibli animation, creatures and their magic were all drawn with the same love and detail that the main characters were given, firmly placing the fantastical effects within the film’s reality. Without that harmony it just wasn’t worth watching, or at the very least the show would have to have some amazing characters for her to get invested. Que this little Netflix darling.

Nala dipped her fork lazily back down to where she thought the dinner platter was, eyes glued to the faint glow of the television as she lay sprawled on the couch. In this dimmed lighting the raven-haired girl had created the perfect binge-watching environment, ready to dedicate her entire day to plowing through all 5 seasons. She lifted the forkful of meatloaf to her somewhat parched lips, squinting from the reflected flare off her fork as it caught the narrow crack of light from the drawn curtains. She guessed that meant the sun was probably starting to go down, but was far too comfortable to check. In fact, her thorough planning meant she needn’t move from that very spot for anything short of an emergency. She’d even precooked both the lunch and dinner now spread out in front of her to munch on throughout the marathon—or at least it had supposed to last her throughout the marathon.

She took a long swig from her somewhat flat 2-liter Sprite bottle, casually nursing a deep, rich belch she’d have been mortified to let loose in public, but felt oh so satisfying in the comfort of her own home. Sighing contentedly to herself, Nala dipped her fork back to her platter, only to hear the distinct squeak of metal against plaster. And after a few failed attempts to find her next morsel, the lazy college girl realized there weren’t any more. She blinked, her attention finally drawn from the TV’s alluring glow to survey the four empty platters that had once been her meal plan for the entire day. And yet here it was, just a little past 3:00, and her stomach had already distended enough to push over the couch cushion, weighted down with two full meal’s worth of food. Even in the dim light her cheeks seemed to glow at the sight of herself, a tentative hand exploring the new curvature of her stomach, embarrassed she’d managed to scarf it all at once. She hadn’t even made it through to the second season.

“Oh well… nothin’ I can do about it now.” She mused, rolling over onto her back to see her stomach rise almost in line with her chest, helped in part by her body’s natural layer of pudge. Quite a noticeable bulge, but nothing she couldn’t handle. Heck, she could even go for a little more, luckily she’d been smart enough to grab a few bags of chips for the evening (it had supposed to have been her midnight snack as the marathon went to the night, but details).

“Guess it’s just you and me, ol’ pal.” She mused, giving her bulge an affectionate pat as she popped open the bag of Tostitos. “And a few dozen of your “guests”. She laughed, daintily lifting a salty triangle to her tongue before reaching lazily for another, perfectly content to lay there and indulge for the rest of the night.
Here's a short little sample modified from an RP I did a while back. I was recently going through my old files after I recovered them from my external hard drive (because my old computer died) and though I'd share it here^^. It's been a while since I tried to write anything on my page, perhaps you might see a difference in style that's closer to the way I currently write :P

Let me know if you guys like it, I might be inspired to write/touch up more short stories like this~
